A days guiding

Had a fantastic day guiding for a very pleasant client. The weather today was quite possibly against us, what with the odd shower and very cold wind. We ate a damm sight better than the fish did, but after a large amount of hard work, we did finish up with a rather fine Brown Trout.

Many thanks to Alan Bastone at Flowers Farm Trout Fishery.

A well earned fish

Wild fish

Talk about wild fish in wild places, it cannot get any better than this!!!

Thanks John G for your company and your camera skills.

Nice fish

Luckfield lake regular Ashley Warr caught this fine mirror carp of just over 22lbs during an evening session on thursday. He said it was a personal best from the fishery, which has been fishing very well over the last few weeks.

The power of the strimmer

And after coffee

You wouldnt believe after a little drop or rain how much things grow in a couple of weeks!!
But a few hours graft on a beautiful day can put things right.

Another fun day

Tony King good with a fly rod and a strimmer

We had a busy day flying around various river beats trying to spruce them up a little before the mayfly really gets going, this included a fair amount of stocking, fish from Hooke springs fish farm, Dorset, fab quality as always, good fins and nice and hungry!!! (cheers Robert)

Mayfly

Jungle fishing

The Mayfly have arrived so I managed an hour or two on a tiny chalk stream in Dorset, trying to dodge the heavy showers.

Using my new Orvis 3wt, it was just about in control during the gusty wind that came along with the frequent showers, all fish caught on a mayfly tied by my good friend John Grindle.
